DC Sports and Recreation Association:
They conduct, organize and referee many of our sports leagues. They keep time, keep score and set-up/clean-up the facility as required. They advise District Sports on the proper conduct of games and ensure rules used are consistent with the spirit of the sport and the spirit of a recreational “for fun” game. As a team DCSARA is the expert behind the scenes of the league. All referees or league coordinators are members of the association.
Metropolitan Washington Soccer Referee Association:
They conduct and referee many of our soccer leagues. The association itself is a registered non-profit with the state of Maryland. All referees work as independent contractors assigned by the association to District Sports leagues or games.
Game Day Sports Field Maintenance:
They line our fields for games and set-up fields as necessary. With cooperation of the public space owner, Game day has also mowed and/or conducted field maintenance to enhance playing conditions and safety. Game day is Maryland based sports field maintenance sole-proprietorship.
District Sports:
We organize all the players into teams, process on-line registrations, acquire public space field permits on the leagues behalf, schedule independent referee from one of many DC area associations, request happy hour specials from local restaurants on the leagues behalf and supply the field equipment required to participate in the sport. Actual public space permits, game cancellations due to field or facility closures, conduct of games, number of games, and quality of play is really up to the league itself, the association conducting the game and mother nature. District Sports is a registered trade name of the DC Sports and Recreation Association and is a 501.c3 non-profit organization.
